SANDRA J HILDEBRAND QC
Sandra Hildebrand QC recognizes the financial and emotional toll that conflict has on individuals, families and businesses. She has a practical and solution focused approached to resolving legal disputes. Sandra is dedicated to finding creative solutions through interest-based negotiation, alternative dispute resolution such as mediation, and strong legal representation in court when necessary. She has appeared in Provincial Court, Court of Queen’s Bench and the Court of Appeal of Alberta.
Sandra graduated from the University of Calgary Law School in 1992 and articled at the City of Calgary Law Department. She has practiced law in Calgary for the last 25 years, primarily in the areas of Civil Litigation, Family Law, Wills and Estates, Real Estate and Intellectual Property. Sandra is a Trademark Agent and has litigated trademark disputes at the Canadian Intellectual Property Office of Canada. She is a Dispute Resolution Officer at the Court of Queen’s Bench and is a member of the Family Law Rules Advisory Committee at the Court of Queen’s Bench.
Sandra has been the civil and family advising lawyer at the Faculty of Law’s Student Legal Assistance Program for the last 15 years. She has volunteered with the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary, most notably in the Mooting and Debating program. She has been a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary in both Continuing Education and the Faculty of Law. Sandra is a mentor with the Law Society of Alberta, assisting junior lawyers throughout Alberta in the area of Family Law, and is a peer support mentor through the lawyer’s ASSIST program.
Sandra is an active volunteer with the Canadian Bar Association, serving on numerous National and Provincial Committees and Sections, including acting on the Executive and as the Chair of the Family Law Section for Southern Alberta. Sandra has instructed and evaluated in the trial advocacy and negotiations components of the Bar Admission Course.
